At Suite 37 Dr. Adams employs the latest in dental technology – from hygiene, diagnostics, and treatment to patient education. Designed to improve the quality of care and to make your dental experience more enjoyable, these tools allow Dr. Adams to provide you the smile of your dreams!
An essential tool for the practice of Neuromuscular Dentistry, the K7 Evaluation System provides us with three distinctly different technologies for measuring, displaying and storing objective data on physiologic and anatomical status and function. This objective data enhances our diagnostic and treatment considerations with information not previously available.
Computed Axial Tomography is the process of using computers to generate a three-dimensional image from flat (i.e, two-dimensional) x-ray pictures, one slice at a time. What makes the I-CAT Imaging System unique is that, unlike conventional CAT scan systems the I-CAT allows us to take these pictures while you are sitting up, the most physiologically relevant position when looking at the teeth, the mandible and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Dr. Adams uses digital dental X-Rays to provide better dental care and more accurate diagnoses. The process of digitally capturing an image is much faster, safer and more comfortable for the patient. With the digital method, a small sensor is moved around inside a patient's mouth and the images instantly pop up on a computer screen in the exam room. The digital images, which look similar to traditional X-rays, can then be enlarged and manipulated, which gives our dental team a better feel for what's going on inside your mouth. The digital dental X-ray system is more sensitive than dental.
X-ray film systems, so your exposure to X-rays is cut by as much as 90 percent. The large, color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it's easier for you to understand how your dentist will treat your teeth. Your fees don't include payment for photo chemicals, film, processing or film storage. Used photo chemicals and film are not polluting the environment. Your dental checkups take less time, and it's fun to watch this system work!
The J5 Myomonitor is a TENS unit designed especially for the Neuromuscular Dentist. Technically called a “Transcutaneous Neural Stimulation” device, the J5 relaxes the muscles of your face and neck to help determine the proper trajectory or “path of closure” for your jaw. TENSing is a mild electrical stimulus of your facial and cervical muscles that typically is done over a period of 45-60 minutes.
