Our first step towards your new smile is to examine your overall dental health including your occlusion, your teeth and your gums. From there, we can help you choose from the available cosmetic and restorative options. Some of these options are;
Teeth Whitening - The least expensive and simplest cosmetic procedure, teeth whitening can produce dramatic results of up to 6 - 10 shades lighter.
Laser Surgery - Many people are satisfied with the color, shade and alignment of their teeth but wish to improve a smile that may appear too “gummy” or asymmetrical. Laser surgery is a relatively painless, simple procedure that utilizes a modern dental laser to re-contour the tissue (gums)to give that “wow” look.
Porcelain Veneers - Veneers are very thin custom-made porcelain shells that are bonded to your existing teeth. Usually requiring only 2-3 visits, today’s porcelain veneers are very strong, durable and resist stains and discoloring. As an additional benefit, they can often be used to make crooked teeth look straight (instant orthodontics). Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice to give you a beautiful, natural looking smile.
Simple Restorations - Simple restorations can include a variety of choices depending on the amount of teeth involved and their location. Options can include bonded porcelain crowns, which are very similar to porcelain veneers but are used to encompass the entire tooth. Porcelain onlays and inlays are primarily used to restore the back (posterior) teeth. An onlay covers an entire “cusp” or point of a tooth and an inlay is used between the cusps. These bonded adhesive porcelain restorations not only preserve tooth structure but strengthen the teeth close to their natural composition.
Full Mouth Reconstruction - As the name implies, full mouth reconstruction is a more complex procedure, usually when significant changes need to made to the way your teeth come together (otherwise known as your occlusion). Full mouth reconstruction may involve multiple crowns / veneers and is performed utilizing the principles of neuromuscular dentistry.
